Foam thicknesses: which one to choose?
Not sure which thickness to choose? Here is a short guideline depending on the building type and climate. If you have doubts — we will suggest the optimal option specifically for your facility.
| Thickness | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| 50 mm | Minimal additional insulation for already insulated houses or facades where increasing thickness is not possible. Provides a small effect and is used rather as a corrective or decorative solution, not as full insulation. |
| 80 mm | Initial level of thermal insulation for relatively warm walls or regions with a mild climate. In Europe it is used for reconstructions but does not meet modern energy efficiency requirements for new buildings. |
| 100 mm | Basic option for small buildings, summer houses or homes with seasonal residence. Provides noticeable reduction of heat loss, but in colder regions of Europe it is already considered minimally acceptable. |
| 120 mm | The most balanced solution for most suburban residential buildings in moderate and cold climates. Ensures a comfortable microclimate and real heating savings without excessive material consumption. |
| 150 mm | Complies with building standards for thermal insulation of multi-apartment residential buildings. A high-quality solution for energy-efficient and suburban homes with permanent residence. Allows significant reduction of heating costs and approaching low-energy or passive house standards. |
| 200 mm | Maximum insulation level for northern regions or buildings with nearly zero energy consumption (NZEB). Used where minimal heat loss is a priority rather than initial savings and complies with European standards of thermal insulation for multi-apartment residential buildings. |
The thicker the foam — the better the thermal insulation. We will help select the optimal thickness for your home.
Installation and storage recommendations
Installation:
- Surface preparation: Before installation, the facade must be clean, dry and even. If necessary, eliminate all irregularities and defects.
- Marking: Carefully mark the placement of panels starting from the bottom row.
- Fixing: Panels are fixed to the wall using special dowels and polyurethane adhesive foam. It is important to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations regarding the number and placement of fixings.
- Joint grouting: After panel installation, the joints between tiles must be filled with special grout to ensure additional sealing and aesthetic appearance.
Storage:
- Store thermal panels in a dry, ventilated room protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Panels should be stored horizontally on a flat surface to avoid deformation.
